LSU Museum of Art

The LSU Museum of Art boasts a new state-of-the-art facility providing 50,000 square feet of exhibition space, collection storage, administration offices, Museum store, outdoor terrace and a rooftop restaurant. Commercial Design Interiors provided full design services with emphasis on budget forecasts, survey reports of existing FF&E and expediting specification, procurement and installation of all FF&E for a tight schedule. The design of the administration areas included specification of all materials, finishes and FF&E for the reception areas, conference rooms, gallery space and administrative offices. A lounge retreat was designed on the 6th floor terrace to accommodate large volumes of guest visiting the rooftop sculpture garden and restaurant. Attention to functionality of the furniture was priority allowing the terrace to adapt to changing events, creating reconfigurable seating environments and resisting the elements of a southern climate.
